Futurekind AI Summer 26 Fellowship. [Applications open]

Electric Sheep’s Futurekind AI Fellowship is a pioneering 12-week learning, building & professional development journey in the rapidly developing intersection of AI & animal protection. It arms you with knowledge, skills, project mentorship and certifications to accelerate your impact and boost your career.

We’ve learned a lot from our ultra-successful first year in 2025, which yielded 360 amazing impactful fellows from all over the world. In round one the fellowship produced 35 teams working on some amazing projects and building life-long connections to develop their impact. Here’s a selection of what they produced.

Building on that foundation, we’re excited to open applications for the ever more ambitious Spring 2026 Futurekind Fellowship.

Session format

  • Weekly facilitated discussions (1.5–2 hours)

  • Readings & pre-session exercises (2–3 hours per week)

  • Optional workshops, webinars, and Q&As with senior researchers and practitioners

No technical knowledge is needed to participate and the fellowship is completely free to take part in. If you’re unsure about your fit, we encourage you to apply anyway! We welcome participants from a variety of backgrounds.

AI for CLIMATE ACTION

AI for Climate Action Lab

[Applications now Closed - thank you to all who applied]

The AI for Climate Action Lab, co-created by Electric Sheep and Friends of the Earth, is for climate activists, local group members, campaigners, organisers and volunteers who want to understand how AI could help their work without ignoring its environmental, social and ethical risks.

No technical background is required. Participants who already use AI regularly will have opportunities to go deeper, build prototypes and support others. An immersive fellowship will be followed by a ‘microlab’ or day of building, where we’ll create real prototypes for climate advocacy.

Sign up is via the form linked opposite [applications now closed - please check back for the next iteration of this course].

Masterclasses

Masterclasses are weekly, fellow-exclusive expert talks exploring the intersection of AI and animal protection. Fellows hear directly from practitioners and researchers working in ethics, AI policy and governance, and advocacy. These sessions help fellows explore new ideas, deepen learning beyond the core curriculum, and connect with people actively shaping the AI safety and AI for good spaces.

Electric Sheep Coworking Lounge @EA Gathertown

All fellows get access to the Electric Sheep Coworking Lounge on EA GatherTown - a shared virtual space to cowork, collaborate, and connect across cohorts and time zones. The lounge includes areas for focused work, project discussions, and casual hangouts, and is open to the wider EA community. Fellows can also join weekly GatherTown socials to meet peers, share updates, and build community.

We currently run Fellowships throughout the year. We get interest and applications to these programs in the thousands and are able to currently offer around 1 in 10 applicants a place, so getting your thoughts on why you’d like to be part of the Futurekind community is key to getting on board.

Why not get a taste of your learning journey as part of the Futurekind AI Fellowship by trying the taster sessions below: a self-directed Mini-Fellowship we call Futurekind Fundamentals. You may also join our Slack community as a guest contributor; we look forward to seeing you over there!
